How to Book a Cheap Car Rental

The average person is under the impression that to book a cheap Chicago car rental you must accept a high mileage, low quality car. However nothing could be further from the truth. Before you finish reading this page, you’ll have a great method of application that will serve as a smart way to save money on your next rental car. As you study carefully the guidelines laid out here to day, renting a car in Chicago will be much simpler and easier than ever before.

The first thing to do to help you get the best possible price on your Chicago car rental is to go ahead and book your car online. Many rental car websites offer renters an incentive for choosing to book online. Find the price online and then contact the car agencies reservation center to negotiate the best price. That’s right…remember that everything is negotiable. Venture over to other travel websites like Trip Advisor, Orbitz, Priceline, Expedia, or Travelocity to see what their pricing structure looks like.

Don’t forget that if you find a price you can afford, you’ll have to book your Chicago car rental through the site with the discount. Now this last tip is more common sense than anything else. However most folks never give it a second talk. This is about renting an economy car instead of a large, gas guzzling vehicle. If it’s not an absolute must, don’t even bother. Now, if you’ve got to have something larger, ask about the walk-up rat on the the car with the least expensive price tag. Without hassle, the agent may be willing to upgrade you to a bigger car.

Can You Pay for a Car Rental with a Debit Card?

Many people wonder whether or not you can pay for a car rental with a debit card in Chicago. The truth is that you can, but it is important to check around with some companies first. Alternatively, paying online with a debit card with a major credit card logo such as Visa or MasterCard usually gets past the following hurdles:

Credit Checks - Are some of the necessary requirements that rental companies must look into to see if you are good on your payments for other things.

Valid Driver’s License or U.S. Passport - Those who do not have the proper identification will usually be turned down by a rental agency.

Utility Bill Check - Proof that you pay your utilities on time and keep a tidy payment schedule which shows you are good on your account for rental.

Airline Ticket for Return Flight - Travelers will be expected to show proof that they will return the vehicle by having their return flight ticket or e-itinerary available at time of rental.

Ban on Locals - Locals may not have the ability to rent a vehicle with a debit card. This convenience is awarded to those who are out of state for debit transactions.

Luxury and Large SUVs - Being able to rent certain vehicles may be restricted or non accessible when paying by debit.

Age Minimum - Drivers under the age of twenty-five may not be able to access the rentals with debit cards. This is simply because most people under 25 are not trustworthy enough for rental vehicles.

Large Deposits - Renters who use debit cards may have large deposit costs which can be well over five-hundred dollars. There may also be extra fees which are hidden once the vehicle is returned.

The closer and closer you get to reserving your Chicago car rental, the more you want to learn about using debits cards to rent cars. Perhaps your credit card is maxed out or maybe you don’t have a credit card at all. Whatever your reason, know that gone are the days where only those who with credit cards have the privilege of renting a car. Best Chicago Attractions and Activities

With a city as diverse and historic as Chicago, it can be overwhelming to those unacquainted with the windy city. Here’s a couple of places to point you in the right direction.

One of the most popular attractions is the Art Institute of Chicago located at Grant Park. Home to one of the largest and diverse art collections in the United States, with over 260,000 pieces. They have recently expanded their contemporary art offerings with pieces from such world renowned artists as Picasso, Dali, and Warhol. There’s different strokes for different folks.

If sports is your thing, Wrigley Field should be a required visit. Not only for the tour, but the dogs as well. The stadium has been around since 1914 and retains much of it’s original architecture and corresponding ambience. It really brings back the old school baseball vibe that’s missing from so many of the modern stadiums out there. And who can forget the hot dog? Chicago dogs are uniquely, and you can never quite find the same thing outside of Chicago.

Chicago is definitely on top of it’s game when it comes to food. They are a leader in new cooking techniques, embracing such new trends as molecular gastronomy. But that doesn’t mean Chicago has forgotten about it’s roots. If you want proof, look no further than America’s favorite food: pizza. The Chicago pizza is known the world over: the golden brown deep dish pizza is unmistakable. If you’ve tried Chicago pizza outside of Chicago, forget your experience; it is nothing compared to the real thing.

You could easily travel to all of these places in a day by rental car, but be wary of meters. Chicago is notorious for it’s expensive street parking and asinine parking police, so bring your quarters as well.

Three Chinese Restaurants in Chicago That Cost $20 per Person

Chicago has a big Chinatown so when you’re looking for good Chinese restaurants in Chicago they aren’t too hard to find. Chinese restaurants in Chinatown are not costly and all of the following three restaurants offer meals for about $20 per person.

Joy Yee’s Noodle Soup is located at 2159 S. China Plaza. It has excellent ratings and is recommended for its innovative Asian cuisine. Joy Yee’s has a huge menu and also offers excellent Thai food. They do not only have Asian food at this restaurant, Yen’s also offers American cuisine. This is helpful if you’re going out for dinner with somebody that does not particularly like Chinese food.

Happy Chef Dim Sum House has Chinese and Dim Sum cuisine. Their address is 2164 S. Archer Ave. They are acclaimed as having the best and most authentic Dim Sum in Chicago. It is a typical Chinatown restaurant which is low-key and low on atmosphere with great food at a great price.

Yen’s is my third pick for authentic Chinese restaurants at $20 or less per person. Nowadays every second restaurant seems to be offering Thai food and it has become increasingly more difficult to get good authentic Chinese food. Yen’s cuisine is authentic Chinese and they also have seafood. One of their best dishes is their excellent garlic beef. You don’t want to miss that dish. They also have great vegetable eggrolls as well as all the standard sweet-and-sour, deep-fried, rice and noodle-based dishes. Yen’s is situated at 2856 N. Clark St.
